NOS USSR ГТ108Г PNP Germanium Transistors
This listing is for sets of three (3x or 3pcs), NOS (New Old Stock) Soviet-made ГТ108Г (GT108G) PNP Germanium transistors. These transistors have an average Forward Current Transfer Ratio (often referred to as hFE) of between 110-250 according to original datasheet (see attached picture for datasheet provided with this shipment); this means that they'll work well in a variety of audio-related applications, including home audio amplifiers, guitar effects and amplifiers, etc. - especially when higher forward gain is critical, as in vintage fuzz effect pedals like the Sola Sound Tone Bender MKI, Baldwin-Burns Buzzaround, etc. -
I've seen 2N1471, 2SB335, and 2SB264 listed as close replacements, among many others.
Note: these types of transistors tend to sound better after a few hours' break-in time.
All transistors are tested prior to shipment and therefore
guaranteed working and non-DOA
. This removes a substantial amount of the headache that is working with Germanium transistors - some of the boxes we get wind up having 40%-50% of the transistors dead when they arrive at our warehouse. Though we have taken pictures of the original packaging,
original packaging is NOT included with sale
. We do not ship these in original packaging - there are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, the original packaging is usually bulk (50-100 units or greater) - secondly, these are usually 1980's vintage, so the original packaging is usually in fairly bad shape by the time these get to us. We repackage these to solve both problems.
