Description

I used to be an ardent collector of eyebaths, but my passion has swung to hand painted china, so this collection is just sitting in a large carton in storage. Here’s a great opportunity for a new collector, an ophthalmologist, an optometrist…an INSTANT COLLECTION with Free Shipping.
As you will see by the photos there is a great variety with NO duplicates (unless marked). There are bottles, prosthetic eyeballs, a few in original boxes, shorties, tubs, stemmed, tall Victorian, those with reservoirs, and all colors of the rainbow.
Brands include, Optrex, Lavoptic, Bon-Opto, Pettit’s Eyewater, Oftamol, Collyrium, Wyeth, Evans, Elder-Flower, Rooks and Singleton eye ointments, W.T.& Co, John R Dickey, Murine, Poor Richards Eye Water, Vick’s Eye Drops and MORE. All antique or vintage.
You’ll find rare lamp work, many mouth-blown ones with pontils, many molded. Some marks you will see are Gaynor, Woods, Glasco (Glassco), Maryland Glass, and John Bull, McKesson. Known reproductions are marked as such.
Materials are glass, porcelain, ceramic, milk glass, rubber, Indian silver, aluminum, plastic, but mostly glass. One repro is hand painted signed by Lillian Plues. There were from the U.S.A, U.K., Ukraine, Russia, Australia, India, France, Mexico, Netherlands, even Sweden.
I have noted any known flaws or damage. If I find any breakage as I pack for shipment to YOU, I will disclose that to you.
NO CHERRY PICKING. I CANNOT SELL INVIDUALLY. IT’S ALL OR NOTHING.
I haven’t laid eyes on these since moving in 2013. I took the photos before packing them up for shipment and noted my inventory numbers. But I don’t have all the paperwork, missing the first 50….so what I have noted is what information I have. I cannot open the carton to check on individual pieces. My inventory was before George Sturrock published his invaluable book, so I may not be entirely correct in my identification, but I did the best with what was available.
Also included, if you wish, are emails – treatises, really – dating back to 1998 from knowledge collectors patiently explaining things to me such as manufacturing techniques or different marks.
Here’s the thing…I have 00 invested in this collection…the truth. I will consider all serious offers from Ebayers with sufficient feedback. Please contact me if you want me to send (via Ebay) individual photos for your examination.
Shipping will be FREE in multiple Priority boxes to allow for adequate packing. Thanks for looking.
